In addition to the difficulties inherent to the harvest, transporting coffee from rural areas to collection centers has become an even greater challenge during this rainy season. This has affected the state of tertiary roads, making it difficult for producers to access delivery points.

Despite the adverse conditions, producers have not diminished their commitment and continue to make a significant effort to ensure that their coffee arrives in optimal condition. Aware that the quality of their product is essential to maintain the trust of commercial allies, producers implement strategies to protect the integrity of the grain during transport.

Progress of the harvest, production, and quality.

The dedication and effort of our communities not only ensure high-quality coffee but also a positive impact on the lives of those who grow it. The current harvest season has been characterized by being different than expected. In general terms, the cycle seems to have started early, showing a considerable volume of production, although with particular characteristics that make it long and with part-time maturation.

Progress by area

In the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, a significant increase in production has been recorded, driven by a higher yield per hectare. In the middle area of the Sierra Nevada, they have stood out for their high volumes of coffee, contributing significantly to the regional total. Despite the climatic difficulties and complications in transportation, the constant rains in the coffee-growing areas have favored the optimal development of the grain, guaranteeing an outstanding quality proven in the physical analyses. This panorama has allowed the increase in the production and price of coffee, generating significant income and ensuring economic stability and well-being for producers and their families.

As for the regions located in the Serranía del Perijá, the harvest season has been marked by the consequences of an adverse climate that has directly impacted coffee producers. Intermittent rains have generated an irregular increase in the ripening of the grain, which represents a significant challenge in terms of quality and management.

Despite a complicated start, production continues to meet high-quality standards. Thanks to their experience and dedication, coffee growers have managed to implement practices that have allowed them to stabilize and increase the quality of coffee, ensuring a competitive and attractive product for high-value markets, such as in the upper area of the Serranía, which have contributed to the good performance of production. Generating a positive impact on families to generate income that allows them to face the rest of the year with greater economic stability.

The effort and dedication of producers and collaborators are recognized and valued. Thanks to this shared commitment, progress is made towards the delivery of high-quality products, strengthening relationships with allies who value a unique coffee born in the heart of the world.
